trailer break: ‘Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs’
Take a break from work: watch a trailer...
Lovely: end on a joke about the accidental and inappropriate touching of penis. That’s some class, right there.
Oh, and the Scrat has been male all along, has it? Of course it has. All animals are by default and assumption male. We all know that the only way to identify female animals are by their long eyelashes, which they are constitutionally unable to refrain from batting at males, and their sexy fingers. Sexy fingers? *sigh*
At least it looks like there’s some sort of explanation, however fantastical, for how dinosaurs could be coexisting with ice-age megafauna... of course, these animals are in fact separated by tens of millions of years. I can buy a “lost world” scenario, within the confines of fantasy fiction, as long as little kids don’t come away from this flick thinking that woolly mammoths and sabretooth tigers were living alongside T. rexes. That would really, really make me mad.
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs opens in the U.S. and the U.K. on July 1.

Every time I go to the cinema to see a PG-rated movie the number of trailers for animated films featuring sexxxay animals really freaks me out. It's like Hollywood has been infiltrated by some sort of secret Furry cabal.
The basic paeleontology fail in the title annoys me too.

It doesn't seem any more harmful to me than kids thinking that cavemen coexisted alongside dinosaurs and sabretooth tigers, AKA The Flintstones.

Der Bruno, are you really only just now starting to notice the sexualization of cartoon animals? Disney has been recruiting children to become "furries" since at least as far back as 1955.

Great, thank you for spelling out and forever imprinting om my conscious mind something I had only been aware at a subconscious level up until now ... As if I didn't have enough material for nightmares already.
Only to think that I found out about furries from an episode of CSI: Las Vegas ..needless to say I spent some time after reading the Wiki article ..and freaking out even more.

Uh... you're welcome?
But seriously, I guess I've just seen too much. Of all the weird fetishes out there in the world and on the Internet, the furries strike me as one of the mostly harmless varieties.
(At least for now. If they ever get hold of the body-morphing nanotechnology they so desperately covet, all bets are off.)
