trailer break: ‘Year One’

Take a break from work: watch a trailer...

Holy moviola, can you see it? Writers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky sat around, probably stoned out of their minds, going, “No no, wait! It’s the Book of Genesis meets Spartacus! No no, wait! It’s Quest for Fire meets Life of Brian! No no, wait! It’s The Passion of the Christ meets Caligula!” And then they literally fell on their asses laughing their heads off at their own cleverness.

And then, director Harold Ramis came in and said, “Gentlemen, please. It’s Unfrozen Caveman Gladiator. ‘I may only be an unfrozen caveman gladiator, but I will have my vengeance!’ No?”

Um, no?

Hey, wait a minute! Gene Stupnitsky? Stupnitsky? That has got to be a joke, doesn’t it?

Year One opens in the U.S. and the U.K. on June 19.

Well, I didn't see any bodily function jokes. It looks like it's channeling monty python sure, but is that a bad thing? I'm starting to really like Michel Cera. There is something about the way he rambles that is funny to me.

Is it just me, or does this look like an old unproduced Chris Farley/David Spade movie with new actors?
