trailer break: ‘Shutter Island’Take a break from work: watch a trailer... If it were any other director, I’d say, “Well, they just gave away the whole movie. Of course Leo’s gonna escape from the island.” But with Scorsese, I’m not so sure. And it’s not just Scorsese, either. This is based on a novel by Dennis Lehane, who also wrote the books that Gone Baby Gone and Mystic River, which gives me very great hope indeed that the story isn’t merely about guessing the plot, but that even if you do guess the plot, there’s so much more going on that that doesn’t spoil things for you. Now, the question is, Do I read the novel before I see the movie, or not? Hmmm.... Nice to see Scorsese and Dicaprio working together again. Shutter Island opens in the U.S. on October 2, and in the U.K. on October 9. Disqus commentsblog comments powered by Disqus |

Ooh. I love that the "image" for the video is Leo hugging/dancing with a fading Michelle Williams. Eerie and awesome.

The Scorcese/DiCaprio partnership is one of the most consistently amazing ones in Hollywood. May it long continue.
