Friday fun! Here’s a screen capture from one of the DVDs in my collection (and it’s definitely from a movie, not a TV show). Guess the movie for fun and, well, fun. No prizes, just bragging rights. But hey: one guess per comment -- no fair hogging all the guesses.
The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert? (Hoping this guess is wrong, because I've only read about that movie, and if this is right I'll feel morally obligated to finally make time to see it.)
Here's a hint: the film is from the era when many movies were in black and white, not as necessarily an artistic thing (in the same way not NOT making a movie in 3D IMAX today is not necessarily an artistic decision).
I knew I had seen the film, but now I feel REALLY stupid. For many years much of the imagery in my artwork was derived from stills and frame grabs from Hitchcock films.

Mephisto. (Another film I only heard about but I need to see someday. Apparently there's a trend here...)

I am finding this one particularly frustrating because I KNOW it is a film I have seen, but I cannot get my brain to cooperate. What is it?

Second try: Sunset Blvd. (as in: also by Billy Wilder)

Nope, all wrong.
Since this week's screencap has already been guessed, I'll reveal this one: *Strangers on a Train.*

But of course. I should have recognized the famous pearl bracelet scene.
Next week, the lnfamous toothpick scene from Soylent Green....
