You know, a friend of mine and I had a discussion after we saw "I Love you Beth Cooper" and we came to the conclusion that teen movies were better in our day (10 Things I Hate About You, Can't Hardly Wait, etc.). Heck, they were even better before our day like this fine example. I actually feel bad for teens today.
Then again every generation likes to think that the days of their youth was a Golden Age and the days of a younger person's youth anything but a Golden Age.
Speaking of which, I just found out that My So Called Life is now at Hulu.com! Woohoo! That show was smack in the middle of my glorious springtime of youth. I started to watch it again, but it's so realistic that it's actually painful, if that makes any sense.
It makes me want to grab the teenaged me by the shoulders and shout, "none of the stuff that you're so preoccupied and self-conscious about really matters out there in the real world!" Strange how one's perspective on shows/movies about teens changes over the years. I find myself identifying with the poor teachers more and more, even the ones you're supposed to hate because they're such hardasses.
Anyway, if you're looking for a decent coming of age story about a teenage girl, please check out an episode or two if you aren't already a fan. You sure can't beat the price of admission.

You're probably right.
