getting ready to move to Movable Type 4

I've spent most of the day today working on reimplementing the site design in Movable Type 4, which is so dramatically different from MT 3 that there's no point in migrating to the newer version if you don't reimplement a site's design to take advantage of all those cool new features.

But it's a major pain in the ass. I've spent most of the day on this, and I've only scratched the surface of what needs to be done. I'm doing it all in an offline testing environment, so at least it doesn't mean FlickFilosopher.com has to be down while I'm working.

I hope, however, that the relative slowness of the end of August will give me a chance to finish up the initial reimplementation by next weekend. At which point I hope to do a sort of beta test on the new look and the new features -- threaded commenting, hoorah! -- with a few interested readers. If you think you might like to do a bit of goofing around with and offering feedback on a new FlickFilosopher, shoot off an email to me and I'll let you know when I'm ready to hear feedback.
