question of the day: How the hell cool would it be if ‘District 9’’s Sharlto Copley played ‘The A-Team’’s Howling Mad Murdock?
Oh man, I’m geekgasming. Blackfilm.com is reporting that Sharlto Copley -- Wikus Van De Merwe in District 9 -- has been offered the role of pilot Captain H.M. “Howling Mad” Murdock in the new A-Team movie.
The awesomely awesome cast already includes Bradley Cooper as Lieutenant Templeton “Faceman” Peck and Liam Neeson as Colonel John “Hannibal” Smith.
I’ve always been a huge fan of the original Murdock, Dwight Schultz, and more than a year ago, when we played the “let’s cast a hypothetical A-Team remake” game, there were some very intriguing suggestions for casting Murdock (and the rest of the gang)... but it was hard to come up with someone as good as Schultz. But the actual cast is better than I could have imagined.
So, how the hell cool would it be if Sharlto Copley played Murdock?

Moderately cool. Is that a good answer?
(Yes, it would be cool, but do we know how good Copley can do accents? I can't imagine Murdock with those Afrikaans vowels...)

They got Liam Neeson to play Hannibal???
"Money, dear boy" is the reply...
Copley as Mad Dog... Copley as Mad Dog... it's doable... it's verrrrrry doable...
I'm worried about BA though. Please tell me they got Ving Rhames for him...

BA is a UFC guy named Quenton “Rampage” Jackson. The only way to do it right is to avoid the Mr. T impression altogether and just do something new.
I got a bit excited when I read the Sharlto Copley news... not sure why though.
