bias update: September 18

obsession: Doctor Who (the old standby; my love for it never really fades)

boyfriend: Paul Gross in Due South, which I’m finally catching up with 15 years later (it’s a very goofy show, but he is so delicious -- and now I learn he’s playing the Devil in Eastwick... yum!)

psyched: Where the Wild Things Are (any movie form Spike Jonze is worth getting psyched for)

girl crush: Abbie Cornish as Fanny Brawne in Bright Star (what melancholy poetic type wouldn’t fall in love with her?)

dreading: Couples Retreat (another movie that’s gonna make me wonder why the hell people bother getting married in the first place)

enemy: Diablo Cody for her script for Jennifer’s Body (it’s all snark and no bite)

OMG ..I can't believe your "boyfriend" is Paul Gross ... I had the hugest crush when Due South first aired in my country, and I was still in high school. Needless to say, I still find him irresistible, even though he's now in his fifties, and old enough to be my dad.
The character he played in Due South was pretty much irresistible too, and that show was one of the funniest, warmest and most entertaining shows I have seen (and I have seen more than a few).
Highly recommended.(I mean, come on ..he plays a mountie ..and he has a deaf wolf called Diefenbaker ..and he's the most polite, pleasant and cultured Canadian ever*end of rant*)
Also, try to watch Paul Gross in "Men with brooms" ..it's a comedy about Canada's national sport ..no, not hockey, but curling ...funny as hell too.
Also, couldn't agree more about Diablo Cody ..however, since "Juno" really got on my nerves, and I thought it was a terrible film, I didn't really hold my breath for Jennifer's body either.

Technically, our official national sport is Lacrosse.

...in the summer and hockey in the winter.

I didn't mean to give offense,it's just that the comedy I mentioned does treat curling as a very Canadian sport ..even if it's not the official national one.Anyway, my country's national sport is so archaic, unpopular and all-round retarded, that pretty much the entire country pretends the national sport is soccer instead.

Never expected to see Constable Fraser on your bias-meter! That just made my day!

Paul Gross is my current obsession too... can/t wait to see his more devilish side in Eastwick, which otherwise would never have attracted my attention.

I hope you won't wait 15 years to see Paul Gross in Slings and Arrows. Wonderful acting from so many people in that cast, and I can't say enough about the writing. I watched seasons 1 and 2 in a weekend, and immediately had to go find my college copy of the Complete Works of Shakespeare so I could dive into the plays again.

I saw a preview of Eastwick tonight, and Paul Gross was featured...yow!

I totally second the recommendation for "Slings and Arrows". Paul Gross, Shakespeare, theatre, humor, love, everything you could want in a TV show!

i will say that both MaryAnn and i watched S&A first... (and having been in a not-for-profit theatre company, it was one of the most honest and hilariously touching things about theatre i've ever seen. S&A made us laugh *and* cry -- sometimes at the same moment). that's what led to the PG marathon of H20 and then Due South... there's a couple of other things on the Paul Gross To Watch list.

I still can't believe Paul Gross is starring regularly in a Tv series again ..it was about time! And he's playing the devil ...what's not to like? Although I definitely second one of the above posters ..if it weren't for him, I would not be watching "Eastwick" ..fingers crossed that the show is good and/or it doesn't get canceled.
