trailer break: ‘The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus’
Take a break from work: watch a trailer...
(more below the ad... scroll down...)
Well. I was about to say that this looks like nothing I’ve ever seen before, except that I do see shades of Terry Gilliam’s The Adventures of Baron Munchausen in the snippets here. And maybe some stuff that Tim Burton has dreamed up... a bit of Edward Scissorhands, maybe.
And how creepy is Johnny Depp’s line here: “Nothing’s permanent -- not even death”? I mean, in light of the fact that Heath Ledger died halfway through making this movie, and even that didn’t stop the film -- or Ledger -- from going on? Gives me shivers...
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus opens in the U.K. on October 16, and in the U.S. on December 25.

Reportedly, at one point in the shoot Johnny ad-libbed a line without knowing that Heath had improvised the exact same sentence earlier on. Weirdness...

I was actually thinking how much fun it was to hear that line coming from Jack Sparrow...kinda like in the trailer for "The Men Who Stare At Goats" when George Clooney says to Ewan McGregor's character "I'm a Jedi Warrior"...crossover movie madness :)
