trailer break: ‘A Single Man’

This is one of the more striking trailers I’ve seen in a long while. I certainly expect something visually dramatic from the film, which is the directorial debut of fashion designer Tom Ford: if we can’t expect visual drama from a fashion designer, what’s the point of his making a movie?

The lovely Colin Firth has been getting a lot of buzz for his performance: people are whispering “Oscar.” I glimpse my boyfriend Lee Pace in this trailer, too, so, you know: yum.

A Single Man opens in the U.K. today, and in the U.S. on December 11.
