trailer break: ‘Saw VI’
Take a break from work: watch a trailer...
I guess we have to admire a little-engine-the-could franchise like the Saw movies. Every Halloween, like clockwork, there’s another one...
Oh, we don’t have to admire it? Good. What does it mean that audiences can’t get enough of people being tortured, people being forced into situations in which they have to decide who lives and who dies, and a psychopath that gets off on it all? What does it mean that audiences get off on it all? (And this one looks to be really bad: Spain has slapped it with an X rating... and Spain already has a not-under-18 rating, so this isn’t even the equivalent of the U.S.’s NC-17: it’s even more restrictive.)
I keep waiting for these movies to die, but there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight: there’s already a Saw VII slated for next year...
Saw VI opens in the U.S. and the U.K. on October 23, without benefit of press screenings.

You and me both. I find it sick that people actually enjoy disgusting trash like these movies. I'm not too squeamish about violence in movies, but I don't get the torture porn stuff. The idea of it turns my stomach.

Horror porn?
If you think Saw films are horror porn try Scar!
2 hours of pointless torture.
Utter rubbish.
The Saw films are brilliant.
What horrors are meant to be.
Gory, scary, and they have a good story.
Otherwise they wouldn't be able to keep it going so long would they!
Spectacularly written and acted!

If the Friday the 13th series proved anything, it's that a horror movie series doesn't necessarily have to be good to be successful.

I teach high school and most of my 7th graders are really looking forward to this movie. It's all they've been talking about for weeks.

This Frankii guy CAN'T be serious.
I thought the first one was OK.
The second was terrible, so I never watched another one after that. I imagine I'm safe in guessing that 3-6 are just as bad?
People who love these movies have no standards. Go see some classics of the genre, and then come back and say how great they are.

Hah. They've been able to do so many Saws because they are relatively cheap to make and enough people will see them to make them profitable. Look how many "Final Destination" movies they've made. Quality has nothing to do with a film series' longevity.

Sad thing is, Saw has probably passed the threshold wherein they will 'resurrect' this tripe every 5 years anyway.
Coming soon in 2021... Saw: The final piece? Freddy vs Jigsaw? Saw: A Rob Zombie film?
