trailer break: ‘Daybreakers’Take a break from work: watch a trailer... The January release date is not encouraging, but I like this trailer. I like the new take on the very old vampire tropes. I like that this is from brothers Michael and Peter Spierig, who made the surprisingly poignant Undead on the cheap a few years ago in Australia. Now, it they’ve got names (Willem Dafoe, Ethan Hawke, Sam Neill) and a budget. I’m excited to see what they can do with that. Daybreakers opens in the U.S. on January 8, 2010; no U.K. release date has been announced. Disqus commentsblog comments powered by Disqus |

I'm excited about this one too. I'm a little hesitant because they filmed it way back in 2007 (reminds me of Ghost Rider, which also took years to come out), though I'm pretty sure their budget got a retroactive upgrade, so they did some reshoots.
Regardless, it's one of the best trailers I've seen in ages...

Have to agree, the trailer does look pretty good. However, the whole humans-farmed-for-blood was done in Blade 3, if I'm not mistaken, with not very good results. Let's hope in this film they did more story, and less mindless, slo-mo action.
Still, Hawke and Neill as vampires...kind of cool.
