I are thoughtless moron

By the special request of a reader, I hereby dub myself “thoughtless moron” in the “status bar” below the Bias Meter above.

That’ll change, of course, at some point in the near future, but for now, that’s apparently what I am.

Don't you love when protesters spell things wrong?

And the irony of the word he misspelled.

I are thoughtless moron

I've been telling you this for years.

Especially since I did that "whole donate and I'll totally review the movie of your choice" thing back in the day. And you never reviewed my choice, you thoughtless moron.

And you know exactly which movie I want reviewed.

DO IT. YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO.

Don't give into these people, Maryann. Your comments about Brittany Murphy were not malicious, unlike some of the responses you've gotten. The people making the hateful comments are hypocrites. They are doing the very thing they are denouncing you for doing, which is offering an opinion. If they actually believed in what they were saying they would stop reading your blog. I'm against hatemongering and don't like to see it supported.

That sign is even funnier when you really apply grammar rules. Ignore the "morans" misspelling and notice the punctuation. When you have an exclamation point after "Get a brain," you have ended that sentence. Therefore "Morans" is another sentence entirely.

So one interpretation of that sign is that he is urging us to get a brain, and he signed it "Morans" as being the person doing that urging. He is calling himself a moron.

The above two paragraphs assign me to hellfire for being elite.

Well, if I were a member of the Moran family, I'd be quite shocked at that blatant display of anti-Irish prejudice in the photo above. And since MaryAnn is half-Irish, I'm quite sure that that sign seems particularly offensive to her.

Then again, the person pictured could have simply misspelled a word on his sign but I would think that a person would have to be pretty stupid to misspell a word that simple. In fact, he'd have to be a--oh, wait...

The "GO USA" sign and flag rag are nice touches, too

And you know exactly which movie I want reviewed.

Which one is that?;-)

She knows. :) It was released in 1977.

HEY JoshDM! I didn't know you were a fan of Billy Jack Goes to Washington!

You can guess better than that.

"Kentucky Fried Movie"

Netflix just sent "Amazon Women on the Moon", the spiritual sequel to "Kentucky Fried Movie", and while it's quite funny so far (I've only watched 45 minutes or so, then had to hit the sack - WTF Rosanna Arquette and Steve Gutenberg!), I like KFM better.

Just finished Amazon Women last night and it was very entertaining.

Hooray for David Alan Grier and Michelle Pfieffer (who really acted the heck out of her role), with a surprise post-cameo appearance by a top '70's/'80s movie icon!

Well, Josh, at least it wasn't The Turning Point.

1977 was a good year for movies.

Man, now I want to rent Ishtar, but it's never been released to DVD in North America.

That was 1987. Not 1977.

And Amazon Women was 1986. Still, I want to rent it.

You have my blessing.

1986 was a good year. Ollie North was laying the groundwork for loads of future entertainment. Straight to Hell came out...filled with buckets of punk in-jokes. I bought a copy of that to annoy my frenemies with.

I like KFM better.

That's because it was better. I remember having high hopes when I first saw the poster for AWOTM because back in 1986 it seemed like the Airplane! crew could do no wrong. Then I saw that movie and apart from the bit with the pirates dissing warnings against video piracy, not much in it struck me as funny. (And this from someone who had no problems laughing when watching Top Secret.)

Different strokes, I guess.

On the bright side, I remembering liking it way better than Airplane II! and Young Doctors in Love...
