I can’t winUPDATE: My host isn’t going to charge me for the bandwidth overage! (Though that courtesy won’t continue if my mad-scientist plans to blow traffic through the roof actually work as designed.) My host: Fused Network. They rock. As you may have noticed if you’d tried to check in here over the last hour and a half or so, FlickFilosopher.com had exceeded its monthly bandwidth allotment with my Web host. Looks like the tiny bit of extra ad revenue I’ve been seeing this month, thanks to increased traffic, will all go to pay for extra bandwidth. *sigh* support

Speaking of ad revenue, you should know that one of your ads breaks the site formating. I assume it's only Canadian viewers who are seeing it because Telus is a Canadian phone company but there is an animated Telus ad that forces all the site content into the far right column any time it loads. If the ad server serves up a different ad there is no problem.

I've had another Canadian reader with problems viewing the site, though clearly not the same issue (his doesn't seem to be caused by a particular ad). But I wonder if they're related.
I can't find a Telus ad, however, in my ad rotation. Could you email me a screengrab, and let me know what site the ad sends you to when you click on it?

Well, I'm a Canadian reader, and there is a Telus ad on my screen as I type this. I'm not experiencing any problems with the formatting, so perhaps it's a browser problem.

Are some of the movie trailers you post on your site meant to be longer than normal, MaryAnn, or is that just the way they may appear on computers that are a different brand than yours?
I'd normally be tempted to blame it on the ads but no one has said anything bad about the Gerber ads--and I doubt it had anything to do with anything in the left hand column anyway because when I try to embed a video that's larger than normal on my site and I don't adjust the width on the original HTML, I get a similar problem.

I'm not sure what you mean by "longer than normal." Do you mean wider? I did recently go from using the 480-pixels-wide YouTube videos to the 560-wide, but if you're browser screen isn't open wide enough to accommodate that, you should just see the righthand side of the trailer disappearing under the righthand column.

That's not what I'm seeing even though I opened my browser as wide as it can go. Instead I see the longer trailers overlapping the right-hand column. But then I don't use a Mac like you and it's not the worst of problems to have so...no worries. Thanks for answering and sorry for the delay in responding.
