I've got to agree with the boyfriend choice. Mmm. (And, of course, an intelligent and remarkable artist. No objectifying people here.)

I'm thinking about Netflixing Downey's work, in order, for fun and for the experience of watching an interesting actor develop. On the other hand, that would require watching a bunch of 1980s teen movies. Thoughts, anyone, on whether it would be worth the time?

Yes.

I saw almost everything of his as it came out. I wasn't following his work until after Air America. That travesty I found myself watching with a friend who wanted to see Gibson and was appalled at the movie but transfixed with Downey's still chewing up the crappy role.

So, now I follow him sorta. He's a great actor and I'm really glad he's clean and we might have him for a while longer.

Kind of off-topic, but I just realized you gave the James Bond Complete Collection a green light. I would have thought that the series, if broken down by the categories The Good ones, The Bad ones and The Ugly ones, would contain far more Bad or Ugly ones (especially when one is sensitive to sexist chauvinism) than Good ones, which makes me a bit surprised that you recommend it so warmly.

I mean, it's not as if your hilarious review of DAD would not be fitting for at least the Moore Bonds, too.

Vera Farmiga's character from Up in the Air is cool?

Yeah, for about 95% of the film.

As for the final 5% well...
let's just say that i can think of a few other things to call her than "cool". ;)
