So, how does this compare to other years? Do we usually have over 80% of the films by this time be duds?

This feels like a pretty typical January.

Maryann, I cannot help but notice that you've reviewed all but one of the movies you've given a red light to, but less than half of your green light choices.
Are you just less inspired to write about movies you enjoy?

The Runaways was actually good? That's nice to here. The casting decisions had me wary. I eagerly await the review.

No, it's mostly a matter of whether I can sell a review to a newspaper: they have to come first. And all of the red-light movies so far have opened wide. Some of the green-light ones haven't opened at all yet, or haven't opened wide yet. (The wide releases are the ones the papers usually want.)

Yes, I was also wondering why you didn't review your favorite movie of the year. If a review is sold to a newspaper, then can you post a link to the article?

The Human Centipede was that bad, eh? Huh. Who'da thunk it?

I will review *Girl with the Dragon Tattoo* (and *Agora*) very soon. And none of the newspapers I supply reviews to takes exclusive rights: Those reviews get posted here too.
