trailer break: ‘The Runaways’Take a break from work: watch a trailer... Hmm, lessee: a movie written and directed by a woman -- Floria Sigismondi -- about a bunch of young women doing something awesome and unexpected and for themselves, not for men or for babies. Will this kick box office ass? Or will it be this year’s Whip It: a good movie poorly marketed and hence underperforming, hence perpetuating the notion that audiences don’t want to see movies about women doing something other than fretting over weddings? The Runaways opens in the U.S. and Canada on March 19; no U.K. release date has been announced. Disqus commentsblog comments powered by Disqus |

People will see it because of the hype over the performances by the two actresses(plus they're already pushing the fact that Fanning and Stewart make-out in the Movie). I kind of like Stewart when she actually cares about a role. Plus I'm interested in seeing how she'll do in some other role besides the sullen masochist (ex.: all previous films). The Twilight factor may also play a role, but I doubt it. Instead, we'll see that affect Robert Pattison's new film Remember me whenever that is released.
