agreed! this was like an IHOP commercial designed and directed by Stephen King! all it needed was a creepy clown serving the pancakes... oh wait! it *was* a creepy clown... and the human voice! so... soothing... so enticing... so syrupy! i'll never enter an IHOP again... all of which still look like they were designed in the 60s "international retro future" style.
When I saw MaryAnn's "Holy crap", I assumed the commercial would be outrageously sexist, or racist, or show some sort of outrageously dated attitude. After watching the clip, I almost wish that was it. That was terrifying.
And the thing is, when I was a kid there were not IHOPs anywhere near me, but my love of pancakes made me think that it must be a little slice of heaven.
A whole 'HOUSE' dedicated to PANCAKES? What else could be so freaking awesome!?!?!
Yeah, then I moved to California and finally actually ate at an IHOP. What a letdown...

It's the official restaurant of Alvin and the Chipmunks...if not the inspiration for Brownsville Station's "Martian Boogie"...

I didn't know the Silver Shamrock people did IHOP ads.
