bias update: March 15

I just renewed my membership at MoMA this weekend, and I noticed something you might be interested in.

Matt Smith? not so much excitement

Trying to calm the dread about Matt Smith.

Remember back when Christopher Eccelston left? I dreaded that as he was so good and look how that turned out.

Also the fact that Steven Moffat is at the reigns makes me a little calmer as he has written the best stories for the Doctor lately (The Empty Child two parter, the Library two parter and of course Blink) and Russel T Davies said his were the only scripts he never had to rewrite at all because he always had the Doctor down pat.

I was never that into Eccelston so I was pleased that Tennant took it on (I don't know why but Chris never clicked in the role for me - I like him in everything else he has done). So that fills me with unease. Cos if I wasn't that keen on Eccleston, I might not like this new guy either...

I'm sure Matt'll be fine, though. Although what I've seen him in, hasn't impressed me much. It's not helped by people telling me he was awful in Swimming with Sharks. I'm not dreading him, I just find it a little difficult to get up much enthusiam for it.

Yeah Moffat is a brilliant writer - I like all the other stuff he has done, outside of Who, and can't wait til Sherlock Holmes but he likes everyone to live whereas I like the Daleks killing everyone!

There was an article in the Sunday Herald where the reporter who was allowed on set claimed that Matt Smith was reminisicint of Tom Baker. My enthusiasm for a new season suddenly went right up.
