trailer break: ‘City Island’Take a break from work: watch a trailer... City Island is an odd corner of New York City: it’s like a New England fishing village within the limits of the five boroughs. Movies and TV have been shot there before, but as far as I know, no story has actually ever been set there. So that alone makes me curious to check this out (which will probably have to wait till DVD). Plus, Andy Garcia, Julianna Margulies, and Emily Mortimer all in one movie? Nice. City Island opens in New York and Los Angeles on March 19, and will expand in the U.S. and Canada on March 26; no U.K. release date has been announced. My number 12 film of last year and the one that charmed me the most (particularly Emily Mortimer). I'm really hoping this will find ANY kind of audience. If you like it half as much as I do, then please be vocal about it and spread the word. The releases in the US in the coming weeks are atrocious, all the more reason this ought to be championed.
