trailer break: ‘Doctor Who’ Series 5 trailer 3Take a break from work: watch a trailer... Ohmygod ohmygod ohmygod! Hey. Hey. I’ve been dreaming of time and space since I was a kid, too. Where’s my trip in the TARDIS? Huh? HUH?! Stupid Doctor, not coming to get me like he’s supposed to... Stonehenge! I was there! Twice! I didn’t see the Doctor! Ooo, ooo, Doctor with a gun! *sigh* I cannot wait till April 3. I really can’t. More Doctor Who tidbits: • a spoiler-free assessment from Den of Geek! of “The Eleventh Hour,” the debut episode • some minor spoilers for the upcoming series from the Daily Mail • a roundup of video from Radio Free Skaro regarding the press launch of the Matt Smith era. (Thanks to the many readers who pointed out to me the trailer and the other links.) Doctor Who returns in the U.K. on BBC One on April 3, and in the U.S. on BBC America and in Canada on Space on April 17. Disqus commentsblog comments powered by Disqus |

That Den of Geek! assessment has me rather enthused, I have to say. I was a little disappointed by the Daleks in the trailers, but apparently they are in only one episode and it all looks great, anyway - WW2 daleks is new and different, no? Galloping horses, too, in the UK trailers, and someone flying from the door of the TARDIS! I want to do that!

This latest batch of trailers have really got me excited for the new series. Matt Smith may not be as pretty as David Tennant (who is?), but judging by these clips he is SO the Doctor. April 3 can't come fast enough!

This looks amazing. He's definitely the Doctor, I was needlessly worried.
On a side note (sorry if this is a little crude) but I'd have a goofy smile on my face at 0:04 if I was staring up her skirt too.

is that dalek sporting a union flag symbol?

Oh, well spotted on the flag! Rather intriguing that - a swastika would have been somewhat...banal.

The BBC are running this on TV at the moment, but they've changed the last shot to one of the Doctor's face. Seems like they've had second thoughts about ending on a shot of the Doctor holding a gun.

They've just shown the extended version of this trailer, with more clips and dialogue, on the Jonathan Ross show:

They've also shown a scene from episode six, The Vampires of Venice:
