I bet most of us would love to get a fortune cookie like that for real!

And Yoda's baker no doubt has a fortune cookie which says, "Try or not try, there is no dough"...

@MaryAnn: Yes! I got the same one a while back: See my response to the fortune cookie post of 2/27.

@Tonio: You rock.

One of my classmates claimed to have gotten, "That wasn't duck..."

“Do or not not: there is no try.”

. . . in bed.

Had Chinese last night. They did not include a fortune cookie in my order. Honestly, I might not get out of bed today.

I *hate* when that happens...

As an aside--fortune cookies apparently do not come from China. People in China seem to think they're weird.

I thought everyone knew the non-Chinese origin of fortune cookies by this point...

Do or do not: there is no try

...except in bed.

The oddest fortune I got in a fortune cookie:

"You may fall on the stairs next week".

I SWEAR TO GOD. This from a very generic Chinese delivery place that never before and never again gave me any kind of fortune like it.

I saved it for years and eventually lost it in one my many moves.

And for the record, it was not only odd but it was innacurate - I did not fall on the stairs the next week. But many years later, I tripped on the stairs and banged up my knee and OF COURSE the first thing I thought of was that damned fortune.
