I'm having a similar problem with a summer US visa application... since there is a piece of paper with a number on it (the I need for my app') that inexplicably has to be couriered from the USA to London... (email is apparently too new fangled for the US embassy)

I ordered a hikers kettle from Kelly Kettle in Ireland and am waiting for it to reach the Ozarks of Arkansas. The kettles are called volcano kettles....now there's a bit of comical convergence!

The smoothest ride of all would be a nuclear-powered submarine.
And before you say it, they would be literally 1000's of times less polluting overall than jet airliners.
