Polanski speaks (but doesn't apologize); sexist iPad ads?; Mr. Rogers is evil, says Fox News; more: leftover links

Every week my browser gets cluttered up with tabs for stuff that I stumble across and figure I might be able to use as a Question of the Day or a WTF Thought for the Day or grist for some other post. And inevitably, I end the week with most of that material unused. But there's no reason to let this stuff go to waste: I can still share it with you, for your amusement, and start the new week with a clean slate.

Herewith this week's leftover links, in no particular order:

Everyone on Earth *is* special, with the possible exception of Fox News hosts, which may explain why they felt let down by that message...

Wow. Mr. Rogers is evil, huh? I watched Mr. Rogers as a kid and got straight A's because I WORKED FOR THEM. I don't know if this is more of an insult to Mr. Rogers or to my generation.

However, it's not surprising that Fox News conservatives dislike people thinking that they're special or different from others in any way.

Don't get me wrong... I do think that narcissism is definitely a problem in our country, but one that is less due to Mr. Rogers and more due to our obsession with celebrity and achievement at the expense of everyone else.
