watch it: “Who You Gonna Call?”

Jay Leno may not understand why people love libraries, and why they’re so vital, but some people do:

From The New York Times:

A press representative for the New York Public Library said that the library approached Improv Everywhere about using its austere environs for the video stunt. The library said it hopes to use the video to publicize its Don't Close the Book campaign, which is designed to raise funds as well as awareness that the library is facing a budget cut of as much as $37 million.

awesome... i like that my public library system has a sense of humor!

And books, of course. i like that it has books.

Is it wrong that my first reaction is to say that they didn't have the suits or Winston in the library scene? ;)

Thanks for mentioning the budget cuts and the Don't Close the Book campaign! I've been blogging about the libraries' dire financial circumstances all week. Whether or not you live in New York, you can help out by making donations and/or by sending online messages to Mayor Bloomberg and the City Council.

I'm glad that the libraries are getting a shout out.

(But I think director, Michael Gondry deserves a small nod, because this clip is reminiscent to the funniest scene in "Be Kind, Rewind" from a few years back.)

So this is supposed to be a homage to the "print is dead" scene from the original Ghostbusters? ;-)
