trailer break: ‘Killers’

Take a break from work: watch a trailer...

Girls and guns don’t go together! Everybody knows that. The silly guns never work right and they’re impossible to accessorize.

You would think that especially a professional killer would know that, and especially about a girl who’s so indecisive and moronic that she doesn’t even know her own name: Jennifer, Jenny, Jen? A mere girl cannot be expected to make such decisions!

We already know what director Robert Luketic is into: he gave us the repulsive The Ugly Truth last year. I’m consoling myself with a mantra of “At least it can’t be any more than that one... At least it can’t be any more than that one...”

I could be wrong, however. Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher in the same movie. I’m bracing myself for intense pain.

Killers opens in the U.S. and Canada on June 4, and in the U.K. on June 16.

You know, there are ways that that premise could work.

I don't think this is one of them.

Second worst-looking movie of 2010? I think so. The only thing worse is the trailer for Marmaduke, which is already tied with Killers before the last 40 or so seconds of that trailer kick in and really take it to an all-time low.

I liked this movie better when it was called True Lies.

There is one reason why the Marmaduke trailer pains me less than the one for The Killers:

1. Lee Pace

There is another reason why Marmaduke the film cannot possibly be as bad as The Killers:

1. Judy Greer

I'm not sure why they're in Marmaduke, nor will my love and admiration for them lead me to see it. They do mitigate the puerile shenanigans of a cartoon dog, however. Nothing mitigates Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl.
