Doctor Who: “Vampires of Venice” should be wrapped up on BBC One by now. Don’t spoil here! My blogging shall be speeding to the Net with all due haste...
Another good episode. I looked up Helen McCrory (the head villain of the episode). She is wife of actor Damian Lewis and will be playing Narcissa Malfoy in the last Harry Potter movies.
Keith, Helen McCrory was originally supposed to play Bellatrix Lestrange in the fifth Potter film, but she became pregnant so she gave up the role, which is how Helena Bonham Carter got the role. Just a fun fact. After this episode, I think she would have been a great Bellatrix.
This was a pretty good, decent episode. It's like one of those middling ones from Series 2, only it has Rory in it, which automatically makes it better.
Hear hear!! I love Rory! Charmingly clueless, very funny and with hilarious yet somewhat understated physical comedy, like his bumbling through the market, sword "fight," and backing away from the stores of gunpowder, to name just a few.
The dialog made this ep, turning what might have been silly filler into a positive gem. Four out six episodes have been really good. This is gonna be a great season!
Helen McCrory is a really good actress - she's Cherie Blair again in The Special Relationship, too which she will kill in.
Toby Whithouse writes a show called Being Human, which is good, if a little uneven. Do you watch it, Mary Ann? You're always on the lookout for new things.
This episode really goes to show how well-cast this new season is. The plot itself had a lot of problems (which I'll wait for the spoilery thread to get into,) but the performances really saved it.

I just ordered the DVDs from the UK, so maybe I'll get to them soon...
I enjoyed Toby Whithouse's other contribution to DW, the "School Reunion" episode with the Tenth Doctor and Sarah Jane (plus Anthony Head as one mean head master...)
Only saw the pilot episode of Being Human and enjoyed it enormously, although I understand they underwent a significant cast change for the rest of the series.
I am so sorry for my earlier spoiler. I have no excuse. I'll lurk until I can get my act together. I really enjoy the discussion here re: Doctor Who and sincerely apologize to anyone for whom I may spoiled this episode.

Won't spoil it at all, except to say that it's another good one.
But I'm really psyched for next week...

Three things:
1. Yay!
2. I want one of those nighties
3. Not too sure about the whatsisface being along thing - haven't we already had that with Mickey and Rose?

No spoiling here. But spoiling here if you want it! Have to say it's got to be tough to be a Doctor Who writer if your name's not Stephen Moffat...

There's a reason Toby Whithouse got given his own series to write. He's a good writer. Excellent episode.

I've decided I quite like whatshisface. He reminds me so much of my ex in so many ways - good and bad.
Also, Croatia was a great idea. It looked wonderful. ^.^

The next episode does look pretty freaky.

Being Human is being redone in the US, Supernatural's Jeremy Carver and his wife Anna Fricke are going to be showrunners.
