‘Doctor Who’ thing of the day: “Lost In The Dark Dimension” fan trailerSo apparently there were some mad plans for a 1993 30th-anniversary special that never panned out, involving a story about Tom Baker’s Doctor not regenerating into Peter Davison and so all the universe is in trouble or something. It never happened, of course, but since when would that stop fans from fantasizing about it? “Castrovalva” cut together this “trailer” for the project from existing footage: “Castrovalva” tells us: '(Lost In) The Dark Dimension' was a name given to a potential 30th Anniversary Doctor Who special feature length film, which would have been written by Adrian Rickelsford, and in which the 3rd - 7th Doctors would have starred. Unfortunately, the film was never produced, but here is an example of how the trailer for it might have looked. The Doctor Who TARDIS Index File elaborates: The Dark Dimension would have featured all surviving actors who played the Doctor plus Ace and a slew of monsters (in particular Cybermen, Daleks, Ice Warriors, Yeti). Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart would also have appeared along with a character named Summerfield (who could be then Virgin Publishing's Bernice Summerfield). I’m sure it would have been really cool. Even if those multi-Doctor stories always squicked me out a little. I mean: He’s supposed to be the same man all the way through, right? So how are these stories any different from one in which, say, multiple Sylvester McCoys were all running around? (If you stumble across a cool Doctor Who thing, feel free to email me with a link.) i have to agree that the multiple Doctor stories are never among my favorites... i would have preferred the Doctor to revisit the former companions (we got a little of that with 'School Reunion'). this looks kind of... odd.
