trailer break: ‘The Night Chronicles: Devil’

Take a break from work: watch a trailer...

There appear to be some events happening in this trailer.

Here’s the real “Night Chronicles”: multiplex audiences are spontaneously groaning “as if in pain” when they see M. Night Shyamalan’s name on this trailer.

I’m not sure I want to know how bad his movies can get before the studios hide his name rather than trumpet it...

The Night Chronicles: Devil opens in the U.S. and Canada on September 17, and in the U.K. on February 11, 2011.

This trailer was attached to the last three movies I've seen in theaters, and at each screening, the audience did indeed groan when they saw M. Night Shyamalan's name come up. No joke.

Yeah, I'm surprised they didn't take his name off it already. Surely The Lady in the Water and The Happening were enough to prompt this. And I'm actually quite a fan of his, too...

I do like the premise, however. I thought I read about this years ago, that it was a old treatment of Night's, but can't seem to find that info now.

Looks like the DMCA is being worked overtime to make sure none of these audience reactions will be viewable in YouTube videos. I hope this helps people realize laws like the DMCA were never really about protecting copyrights, and always about preserving corporate control of the media.
