‘Toy Story 3’ continues to tear up the British box office

As of this past weekend, Toy Story 3 has earned almost £59 million in the U.K. It was the No. 1 film, adding £3.2 million to its total and handily trashing newcomers The Last Airbender (£1.7 million at No. 3) and The Sorcerer’s Apprentice (£1.1 million at No. 5), both of which were vying for the same audience as Toy 3, and couldn’t come near it, even though Toy 3 has been in cinemas for a month.

In the U.S., after nine weeks, Toy 3 is at a little over $400 million. If it had been performing as well here as it is in the U.K., it would have earned almost $590 million. (Only two movies have made that much in North America: Titanic and Avatar. Maybe if James Cameron directed a Pixar movie...? Nah.)

Toy Story 3 will soon enter the ranks of the top five highest-earning films in the U.K. (surpassing the Lord of the Rings films).

I have no commentary on this. My mind is just boggling. Not that Toy 3 isn’t a good film or doesn’t deserve its success, but... wow.

Hm... James Cameron making a Pixar film about returning kings, pirates, and men who dresses up in bat costumes. I'd check it out.

Toy Story 3 is one of the best movies ever made, not only in the animation category!
In my personal list (that keeps changing), it's third, behind Up and my favorite movie Finding Nemo, both Pixar movies: a coincidence? I don't think so: all of them are true masterpieces (even the weakest of them, Cars, is amazing).
It deserves top 5 lists in UK, Usa and worldwide: Avatar, Titanic and The Lord of the Rings saga are wonderful pictures (I loved all of them), but Toy Story 3 is something more!
TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!!! =)
