I wonder how many cheezy 3D action/horror flicks have axes flying out at the audience? I think the first I ever saw was Krull, but I know My Bloody Valentine 3D had something similar in its trailer.
What's really REALLY bad here is that these RE movies are essentially Blade meets The Matrix, when the video games they are based on are just increasingly harder zombie horror survival scenarios. And they have absolutely NOTHING to do with a super mega-enhanced chick named Alice.
I mean, at least Airbender tried to stay accurate to the source material.
Yay. Yet another implausibly thin and un-muscular combat chick.
Given that this is the fourth film in this series starring Milla and at least the second with Ali Larter and Sienna Guillory, that much should be expected.
Tyler, I'm not surprised (though I haven't bothered to see any of the other films, and I don't suppose I'll see this one either); I'm just disappointed.
I keep getting this weird feeling like I saw this exact trailer years ago. Maybe like a 2005 movie being released this year.
Also, this movie has potential. Forget good writing, plot, and acting. Even good editorial taste should be thrown to the wind. This could be one of those movies that is just so overdone that it goes beyond bad, and circles back around to being legitimately good.
I actually rather enjoyed the first Resident Evil movie: it was straight-forward horror/action fun. The second was... okay. I haven't taken the time to see the third.
Seeing this trailer, I'm bit torn. On the one hand, I'm generally a fan of Milla Jovavich, the genre and the franchise. And, big bonus, this is a film that uses Cameron's 3D tech, which is the best version of 3D I've seen yet.
On the other hand... character development, interesting narratives and all the interesting, intriguing things that make me like films like "Inception" are all out the window.

The second half of the trailer makes me think they had the sets left over from one of the Matrix films...

This is the second trailer break you've done for this movie. Are these movies like a secret guilty pleasure for you or something?

how many more movies is this video game franchise going to stagger on 'til?

I'm pretty sure this is one of the most lucrative video game to movie franchises ever, so they'll keep on going until the dosh dries up.
I think this and the original Tomb Raider are the only ones that have been classified as box office hits.

Also, FrankS...you weren't saying that Krull was ever in 3D, were you? If it was, I've never heard of it...

But, on the other hand, women kicking ass...

Stuart - You're right, the movie I was thinking of is Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syn.
