female gazing at: Joseph Gordon-Levitt
I never watched Third Rock from the Sun, so I thankfully have no memories of Joseph Gordon-Levitt as a child to distract me or make me feel like a dirty old lady when I lust after him now.
These pix come courtesy of reader Carolina, who says: He's smart - (Studied French at Columbia)
He's creative- (Founder and Owner of his own online collaborative Film Production Company: HitRECord.org)
And he's gorgeous
I mean...come on. Okay, I’m coming. (Oops, did I really say that?) I’m posting pictures like these every weekday, of a man who is attractive and desirable, because I like to look, dammit -- and because the female gaze doesn’t have to be such serious business. (If you have a suggestion for someone we should female-gaze at, feel free to email me with a name or a link to a particular photo.) Disqus commentsblog comments powered by Disqus |

He looks eerily like Heath Ledger in Joker mode sans makeup in the first pic.

When he rocks it as the Riddler in Nolan's third Batman we will all be in his debt.

Unfortunately, I did watch Third Rock sometimes, so, as with the Harry Potter kids, I will never be able to see it. But it did make me all the more impressed with respect to his acting abilities; even as a kid, he absolutely held his own with the more seasoned actors. It was like "Where did they find this kid?"
What I'M grateful never to have watched is Doogie Howser, because I would be so deprived if I couldn't appreciate the adorable hotness of Neil Patrick Harris! (Suggestion for your next Gazing column!)

I watched 3rd Rock faithfully, and while I don't really feel maternal toward him, it just warms the cockles of my heart that he grew up so nice. Smart, talented beyond his early promise, and accomplished, and while he's not my physical cup o'tea, he is indeed pleasant to look at.

I do have memories of him as a child but I was a child also. :-P I never watched 3rd Rock, but I do have a distinct memory of going to see a schlocky Disney baseball movie called "Angels in the Outfield" that he was in--and my 8-year-old brain lusting after him before I knew what lust was.

It took my a while to remember he was the kid in 3rd rock when I was watching Inception. I have absolutly no problem in forgetting about his horrible hair in that show and just lust after the fantastic man he's become

Funny, I used to watch 3rd Rock too, but Gordon-Lewitt is so mature in the roles that he plays that it's never seemed icky to me. Ditto for NPH/Doogie Houser.
And speaking of child stars, might I recommend Anthony Michael Hall? Who knew how hot he was going to be when he grew up, eh?

I absolutely feel like he is growing to look more and more like Heath Ledger, ironic after 10 Things I hate About You (guilty pleasure!!). He's a fabulous actor and I enjoy a lot of the choices in roles he makes. I heartily agree with this 'gazing' decision!

He was great as Keanu Reeves in Inception

I did watch J G-L in Third Rock & loved the long hair ( I'm just an old hippie). He was utterly charming in 500 Days of Summer & wow! he can rock a suit & tie in Inception. I've watched some of his earlier stuff- Brick & Mysterious Skin & recommend 'em.

@ Wei Lam - that was exactly my first thought, too.

Oh THANK YOU! I never saw Third Rock either--the first time I ever saw him was in "Brick" and I was completely hooked. Can't get enough of him since, and yeah, I feel like a pervy old lady. But so what? I even sat through "GI Joe" because he was in it. That's devotion.

@ Isobel - This may sound like sacrilege, but if Nolan is looking for someone to take over The Joker's role...

He's my favorite actor.I like the fact he's all grown up and matured and hasn't gone off the rails like some child actors. He's in a lot of movies but I love him in Inception, 500 days, Mysterious Skin & 10 Things. Look forward to many more years of watching him on film.

I remember him as David Collins on the '91 version of 'Dark Shadows,' so I have a hard time not seeing him as an adorable little boy. His talent is certainly undeniable; even at 10, he showed such promise.

Goodness. What a fine piece of man.
Proof that muscles and ruggedness aren't everything. Those dimples and that skinny tie could win me over any day of the week.

I recommend The Lookout, for Joseph Gordon-Levitt in a leading role, if you liked Inception -- it's also a heist movie, with mind games, albeit without the special effects and SFnal premise of Inception. (MAJ reviewed it and you can find it by searching the site's archived, but the entry isn't tagged with JGL's name.)
