Antisocial schlub finds love! Hoorah! We’ve certainly never seen that before in the movies. Except for Cyrus. And Greenberg. And Youth in Revolt. And Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. And that’s just this year.
I’m sure Jack will be great, though. I mean, it’s Philip Seymour Hoffman, and he’s good in everything.
Jack Goes Boating opens in the U.S. on September 17; no Canadian or U.K. release dates have been announced.

Is Scott Pilgrim really such an "antisocial schlub?" I mean he has plenty of friends, is in a band, and have been in past relationships before getting infatuated with Ramona.

I wouldn't call Jack antisocial. Antisocial implies something negative... this guy just seemed awkward. His love interest seemed just as awkward as he did.

I'll be interested to see why it's called "Jack goes Boating" and not "Jack Learns to Conquer His Fears About Intimacy Through the Metaphor of Swimming". Perhaps there's an unexpected twist at the end of the film?

Ooops. I see I've had my professional signon on this site for the last few weeks. Apologies for sounding haughty :-)
