watch it: newly uncovered film footage of the aftermath of the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and fire

This is totally mesmerizing; the city looks like Hiroshima after the atom bomb... except for the fact that all the utility poles and trees are still standing.

I wish there was sound. I’d love to hear the voices of these people tell their stories...
