trailer break: ‘How Do You Know’

I had no intentions of hating this movie -- the thought hadn’t even crossed my mind -- until I saw the description of it at the IMDB:

Feeling a bit past her prime at 27, former athlete Lisa Jorgenson finds herself in the middle of a love triangle, as a corporate guy in crisis competes with Lisa's current, baseball-playing beau.

Let me repeat the infuriating bit in case you missed it:

Feeling a bit past her prime at 27

But now I’m mad at the trailer, too, which seems to suggest that there’s any real decision to be made between the nice guy who happens to be in some trouble and the total asshole who appears to have money and fame. I hate that there’s meant to be any suspense or drama inherent in this nondecision.

And now I hate the title, too. It makes no freakin’ sense without the question mark that isn’t there.

How Do You Know opens in the U.S. and Canada on December 17, and in the U.K. on January 28, 2011.
