question of the weekend: What one possession do you treasure above all else?

As I pack up and clear out for my looming move to London, I’ve been telling you about a few of my treasures, the things I love enough to hang on to as I get rid of 95 percent of my stuff. Now it’s your turn:

What one possession do you treasure above all else?

Let’s say it’s a given that, in the imaginary catastrophe we’re talking about, the one that forces you to choose your one beloved thing and run, all the usual important stuff people treasure is already safe: your children, your pets, family photos, important papers, and the like. That leaves you to pick the one thing you love selfishly just for itself, because it pleases you, or brings back memories of a certain day, or came into your possession in an unusual way, or so on.

Happy thinking...
