‘Doctor Who’ thing of the day: antiwar protesters in Parliament Square invoking the Doctor

I posted these to Facebook and Twitter this past weekend, but since not everyone follows me there, here they are again:

I believe this is part of the peace camp founded by Brian Haw, who has been living in Parliament Square for nearly 10 years, as a protest against the U.K. and U.S. invasion of Afghanistan. Or it may be part of the “rival” protest also in the square.

Whoever built this faux TARDIS, however, is surely invokong Doctor Who and not the pre-Doctor Who police structures, because the police box is now inextricably linked to the show. Whether the intention, it’s intriguing to think about what the Doctor would make of the state of his favorite planet at the moment, and what he might do in an attempt to fix some of our more pressing problems...

(If you stumble across a cool Doctor Who thing, feel free to email me with a link.)
