first London meetups: Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, May 8I’ve finally settled on a date for our first London meetup: Saturday, April 2, at a venue to be determined, in Central London (probably Soho). We’ll meet for drinks, nibbles, and lively conversation around 6pm, and we’ll take it however long into the evening we can. If you can’t make that one, we’ll do it all again on Sunday, May 8, 2pm, again in Central London. I’ve created a group on Meetup.com through which I’ll be organizing get-togethers of film and TV fans, from casual chats and socializing (like these first two) to more formal events such as excursions to movies with postfilm discussions and visits to museum exhibitions (any interest in a group outing to the Doctor Who Experience?), to perhaps things like movie-themed walking tours and treasures hunts that I’d create and lead. I’m reviving the name Cinemarati for the group -- I still own the domain name -- which I’ve always liked for its intellectual yet fun connotations. You can find group and event info at www.meetup.com/cinemarati and www.cinemarati.org. If you’re already on Meetup.com, I’d appreciate it if you’d use that service for RSVPing... and if you’re not on Meetup.com, please consider joining. (It’s free, and you can log in with Facebook, so you don’t need to create yet another user account if you don’t want to.) If you’d rather not, no problem: I’ll post event info here as well, and you can post your interest in comments. Disqus commentsblog comments powered by Disqus |
