the oh-yes! DVD of the week: ‘Lorna Doone’Sean Bean, Clive Owen, and Polly Walker, all babies in a 20-year-old TV thing trotted out now for your delicious enjoyment. All good: A classic story of romance, revenge, and adventure Sounds great. Amusingly, however, the DVD cover art appears to be trying to pretend that this isn’t a period piece, which the British edition, released in October 2010, makes no pretense about: Notice how the U.S. cover has so zoomed in on everyone’s faces that there’s no sense of place or context. Which is bizarre: Americans love British historical costume dramas. Especially if they star Sean Bean, Clive Owen, and Polly Walker all looking this scrumptious.
