trailer break: ‘Jumping the Broom’

Who the hell plans on getting married and doesn’t meet their new in-laws to be until the wedding itself? This trailer is chock full of many excellent reasons not to see this movie, but that right there is the biggest one: the film is clearly designed to be as idiotically implausible as it could be, even though it also is clearly intended to speak to supposed universals about love and family.

*grrrr*

Jumping the Broom opens in the U.S. and Canada today, and in the U.K. on June 10.
