Close Encounters of the Third Kind (retro trailer)

I can’t wait to see Super 8, J.J. Abrams’ tribute to Steven Spielberg, which doesn’t open here in the U.K. till August. It looks like I may get into a screening this week, but for now, I have to make do with some actual Spielberg. I’ve got The Goonies coming from LoveFilm (you can watch the trailer for that one here), and next up is this Spielberg classic, which still blows my mind every time I watch it.

This blows my mind, too: Geez, were trailers really near five minutes long as recently as the late 1970s? That always seems like a 1930s thing to me...

Close Encounters of the Third Kind is available on DVD in Region 1 from Amazon.com and from Amazon.ca, and in Region 2 from from Amazon U.K.
