question of the weekend: If you could have anyone’s voice on your voicemail, who would it be and what would they say?

I once tried using a snippet from a TV show as my answering machine message (it was something from Twin Peaks, back when that was a thing, but I don’t remember exactly what it was). The first call to come in was from my dad, who got confused by it and thought he’d called a wrong number. So I went back to my own boring message recorded in my own boring voice, and that’s the way my answering machines and now voicemails have been.

But lots of people do use funny or interesting or weird or not-in-their-own-voice messages to invite callers to leave a message. Have you ever done that? Would you?

If you could have anyone’s voice on your voicemail or answering machine, who would it be and what would they say?

(If you have a suggestion for a QOTD/QOTW, feel free to email me. Responses to this QOTW sent by email will be ignored; please post your responses here.)
