‘Doctor Who’ thing of the day: What does the Doctor’s bedroom look like? (a contest at SFX, and a fantasy in your head)
Oh, you know you’ve wondered about it. Maybe you’ve even written fan fiction about it: What does the Doctor’s bedroom look like? And now SFX wants to offer you fame and glory for your imaginings: Remember in “The Doctor’s Wife” when Rory asked the Doctor where he slept? Well that’s what we want to know – or rather we want to see. Because today we’re launching an SFX competition to draw what you think the Doctor’s bedroom looks like! Well, of course there’d be a bed! It wouldn’t be a bedroom otherwise. We know he sleeps: we’ve seen him sleeping. I’ve always imagined, though, that the Doctor doesn’t need a lot of sleep. But beds can be used for activities other than sleeping, of course. That’s why I imagine, er, lots of books piled up around his bed. As well as a general level of sumptuous luxury: the bed would be huge, the pillows fluffy and copious, etc. Enter SFX’s contest here -- the deadline is August 16, 2011. You do have to draw your idea, however. If you’d rather not, consider this the place to paint your notion of the Doctor’s bedroom with words.
