shocking news: Hollywood hates women, chases them out of TVland

From the Los Angeles Times:

Number of women working in TV falls There are fewer women in front and behind the camera.

The number of women working as writers and directors on prime-time broadcast programs took a big tumble in the 2010-11 season, a new study reports — part of an overall decline in women's employment as actresses and in key creative jobs behind the camera.

Women comprised 15% of writers on the prime-time dramas, comedies and reality shows on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and the CW, down from 29% in the 2009-10 season, according to the report from the Center for the Study of Women in Television and Film at San Diego State University. In the directing ranks, it found, 11% were women, compared with 16% the previous year.

I guess all those disappearing women went off to have babies at the same time. Gotta be it, right? Or else all the men in charge finally realized that, hey, it’s true: women can’t write, aren’t funny, and are always menstruating all over conference room tables. Also, it’s gross how the ladies barge in and spread their cooties around:

"Programs with at least one woman creator or writer featured more female characters than programs with no women creators or writers," it said.

See? Give the gals an inch, and they’ll take a mile. They should be happy to be writing or directing proper TV shows, shows about men. But nooooo. They have to start bringing lady shit into the shows. It’s disgusting, and can no longer be allowed.
