Moneyball (trailer)

Apparently a lot of folks are superexcited about this one, but I’m just not getting any sort of vibe off this trailer. An island of misfit toys baseball team sounds promising, but that’s a Bad News Bears/Bull Durham sort of comedy, and this looks like it’s taking itself far too seriously to be that. It looks very much like Brad Pitt is trying to take over the position of pastor of the Robert Redford Church of Baseball.
