question of the day: What changes would you actually like to see in the ‘Star Wars’ saga?
Two weeks ago we talked about all the new changes to his films George Lucas has made for the blu-ray release of the Star Wars saga. (The set is out now in Region 2 [Amazon U.K.]. It releases in Region 1 [Amazon U.S.] [Amazon Canada] on Friday.) Yesterday’s silly video featured a 1980 promo clip from The Empire Strikes Back that reminded me how lovely and organic and real those first, original, unaltered films looked, before Lucas started adding cartoonish CGI to them. But since Lucas clearly has no compunctions whatsoever about changing his films dramatically, maybe there are a few things he could do while he’s at it that wouldn’t piss off fans, things we’d actually welcome. Like maybe he could populate his universe with some more women. It wouldn’t be easy to add another significant female character to the Star Wars saga at this point, but if changes are to be made, why should they only be easy changes? So, in all seriousness or tongue-in-cheek: What changes would you actually like to see in the Star Wars saga? Perhaps little Anakin could be de-whined somehow?
