question of the day: What do you think of the Emmy Awards results?

Emmy Awards

The Emmy Awards for excellence in American television were handed out last night, and one of the biggest winners wasn’t American at all: Downton Abbey (which aired in the U.S. on PBS). (I still haven’t seen it, but with the second series just starting here in the U.K., I must catch up.) I’m so happy to see Peter Dinklage take an award for Game of Thrones, which even though I haven’t seen that either, I know he must deserve it, because he deserves all awards ever. And brave for Margo Martindale, who was completely riveting and horrifying in Justified. She deserves all awards ever, too.

Here are all the winners:

Outstanding comedy series: Modern Family
Outstanding drama series: Mad Men
Outstanding miniseries or movie: Downton Abbey
Outstanding lead actress, miniseries or movie: Kate Winslet, Mildred Pierce
Outstanding supporting actor in a miniseries or movie: Guy Pearce, Mildred Pierce
