Lock-Out (trailer)

Ya gotta love the awesome awfulness of this trailer. Do you have any idea what this movie is about? Sure, we get to witness the glory of Guy Pearce taunting Peter Stormare by implying that he fucked Stormare’s wife, from which can conclude that men will continue to have their buttons this easily pressed at least as far into the future as space planes and orbiting cities. Then we get some generic action-movie running and space flying and exploding that makes it all look about 97 percent like every other science fiction action movie we’ve ever seen ever.

Also we should probably conclude that tough English-language dialogue simply doesn’t have the same impact when translated into French.

But anyway, would you ever in a million years guess that the story of this flick is allegedly this (via SciFi Mafia):

A man wrongly convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage against the U.S. is offered his freedom if he can rescue the president’s daughter from an outer space prison taken over by violent inmates.

I suppose “wrongly convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage” is tough to convey via explosions.

I do hope they explain what the president’s daughter is doing in an outer space prison.
