Doctor Who thing of the day: a tartan for each of the Doctors
My brother Ken, a graphic designer, has been working on these for more than a year, and I’ve been bugging him to please post at least some of them so that I can post them as a Thing. And finally, here they are. Says Ken at his blog, Geeks Are My Peeps: A while back a book about Scottish tartans inspired me to try my hand at creating some originals of my own. For inspiration, I turned to Doctor Who, as the distinctive costuming, especially in the original series, seemed to naturally lend itself to visuals that were both recognizable but different from the source material. I’m sure you can guess which Doctors inspired these:
Of course, that’s later Tom Baker at top, and Peter Davison below. Click over to Geeks Are My Peeps to see tartans inspired by early Tom Baker, Colin Baker, and Sylvester McCoy. I’ve seen others that Ken has designed but not yet posted -- the David Tennant one is very nice -- so let’s all bug him to show us more. (If you stumble across a cool Doctor Who thing, feel free to email me with a link.) Disqus commentsblog comments powered by Disqus |
