question of the weekend: Can numbers be funny?
This is the sort of weird shit I think about a lot: Can numbers be funny? I think so. I think odd numbers are funnier than even numbers. I don’t know why. Is it the verbal connection between odd as the definition for a number that cannot be evenly divided by two and odd as something that’s weird, strange, or unusual? Maybe. But odd numbers just feel... jangly, ragged, off-kilter in my head. I think the number 187 is hilarious. I don’t know why. But I use it a lot when I have to pull an exaggeratedly large number out of thin air for, you know, humorous purposes. Obviously, many people find the number 69 funny. But not because of its innate numberness, but because of the sexual connotation. Do you find certain numbers funny? If so, which ones... and, if you can figure it out, why do you find them funny over other numbers that you find less funny? (If you have a suggestion for a QOTD/QOTW, feel free to email me.
